Responsibilities:
- 50/50 – solutions built and stakeholder interaction
- Phase II, Phase III studies primarily – across all Therapeutic Areas
- Enabling analytics for clinical trials from start up to close out
- Work directly with stakeholders – discover what data review is needed
- Create dashboards so data is visible throughout the trial
- MicroStrategy programming/visualization work
- R, Python programming, statistics, visualization background
- Refine requirements and help create best way to visualize data
- Translate analytics to business requirements and back to users
- Manage workload of 13-15 studies (broken out by TA)
- The Senior Data Scientist role is a key role to enable application of advanced analytics techniques across clinical development processes.
- Drives Analytics innovation and experimentation to enable data-driven insights for complex business problems across R&D by deploying advanced analytics techniques like Machine Learning and Visual Analytics.
- Identifies use cases that are appropriate for the application of ML and AI.
- Manage and execute analytic needs for a set of clinical trials based on therapeutic alignment Partner with cross-functional teams to enable data-driven insights to support the end-to-end clinical trial execution through fit-for-purpose analytics support
- Identify business needs on a study and support the creation of RBQM deliverables (KRIs/QTLs), data review deliverables, or study specific reports or analyses as required.
- Connects with cross-functional teams to design work product and as an analytics consultant. Anticipates and identifies issues that could affect timelines or quality and develops options and solutions
- Leads and helps establish the design principles and standards to ensure analytical work product is consistent across projects where appropriate and that user experience is optimized
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree statistics, analytics, bioinformatics, data science or equivalent field. Master’s degree preferred
- Must have 3+ years of analytics-related experience in clinical research including demonstrated high-level analytics and leadership competencies.
- Advanced career level proficiency in R, Python or other statistical packages. Intermediate-level knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques
- Expert proficiency with visualization tools like Spotfire, Tableau or equivalent
- Demonstrated effective communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate analytical and technical concepts in layman’s terms
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated history of successful execution in a fast-paced environment and in managing multiple priorities effectively
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to navigate a matrixed work organization
- Exhibits excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and projects.
