Principal Engineer | RAG, Python, React, Node | Climate + AI Startup

A venture-backed startup at the intersection of climate finance and AI is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to own architecture, drive hands-on development, and mentor a growing team. You’ll play a key role in scaling an AI-powered platform that accelerates investment into world-positive solutions.

Mission - Their mission is to accelerate capital flow into climate technologies and other investments that drive meaningful, positive impact.

They’re looking for an Engineer who:

• 8+ years of experience (React, Node, Python)
• 3+ years working with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) or real ML work
• Has helped or 0 to 1; architect and productionize ML applications or AI platforms
• Has start-up experience and understands what it takes to make it in the startup world
• Thrives in early-stage, high-impact environments

What You’ll Do

• Architect and build core infrastructure across the full stack (React, Next, Node, Python, Supabase, Vercel)
• Lead AI/ML feature development (LLMs, RAG, vector DBs, agentic tools)
• Mentor engineers and shape team culture
• Work closely with product to turn customer needs into fast, iterative solutions
• Define and uphold best practices across code quality, security, and scalability
