Role Description As a Founding Engineer at Pixoate, you will design, build, and maintain core platform features and infrastructure that power our AI-driven visual and productivity tools. You will collaborate closely with the founders to shape product direction, translate business needs into technical solutions, and define the engineering roadmap. Day-to-day, you will architect services, implement clean and scalable code, integrate AI/ML capabilities, optimize performance, and ensure reliability, security, and observability across the stack. You will also establish engineering best practices, contribute to documentation, and help grow a high-quality technical culture, including mentoring future team members. This is a full-time, remote role based out of the United Kingdom, with flexibility to work across time zones while maintaining strong communication and collaboration.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in modern backend development (e.g., Node.js, Python, or similar), RESTful or GraphQL APIs, and building scalable microservices or service-oriented architectures.
- Experience with frontend technologies (e.g., React, Vue, or similar) and creating intuitive user interfaces for visual or creative workflows.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of AI/ML integration and image processing workflows (e.g., computer vision libraries, model deployment, or working with third-party AI services) is highly beneficial.
- Solid knowledge of databases and data storage (SQL and NoSQL), caching, and performance optimization for high-volume content operations.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, code reviews, documentation, security best practices, and observability (logging, metrics, monitoring).
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote-first environment, take ownership of end-to-end solutions, and collaborate effectively with product, design, and business stakeholders.
