Note: This position is remote, welcoming candidates from the Sea to Sky and Lower Mainland regions of British Columbia.

About the Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Pink Cat Studio, you'll play a crucial role in both the development and enhancement of our interactive educational tools and games.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full-Stack Development: Spearhead the development of engaging web applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS and PHP.
• Game Development: Build visually engaging educational games with a strong emphasis on CSS animation and SVG manipulation.
• Technical Innovation: Help architect and scale back-end services, focusing on optimal performance and future growth.
• Rapid Prototyping: Quickly develop and iterate prototypes to bring new concepts to life.
• Collaborative Engineering: Work closely with our team to define specifications and contribute to the next-generation educational products.
• Best Practices: Set the standard for development practices, ensuring a consistent, quality codebase.
• Problem-Solving: Tackle technical challenges head-on, ensuring seamless user experiences.
• Customer Support: You will join a team effort to provide technical customer support and troubleshoot issues to ensure a seamless user experience.

Daily Tasks:

• Lead project development in bi-weekly sprints, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
• Design, code, and test innovative features and games for our educational platform.
• Collaborate with the creative team to integrate technical and artistic visions.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends in web development and educational technology.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.
• Build and refine the website layout, ensuring a modern, intuitive, and user-friendly interface.

About You:

• Experience: 4+ years in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and 2+ years in full-stack development with a focus on PHP. This role has a strong focus on front-end development.
• Technical Expertise: Proven track record of developing responsive web applications.
• Creative Flair: A keen eye for animation, graphics, and UI/UX design with experience or a strong interest in game development.
• Database Skills: Proficiency in MySQL and experience handling large data volumes.
• Solution-Oriented: Excellent problem-solving skills and an innovative approach to technical challenges.
• Communicator: Strong ability to articulate ideas and collaborate effectively with a remote team.
• Passionate Learner: Eagerness to stay updated and continuously improve your skills.

Additional Qualifications We Value:

• Familiarity with AWS Environment: Experience with AWS technologies like Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda, S3, and RDS.
• Experience with Audio Manipulation: Proficiency in editing and mixing sfx in Adobe Audition.
• Educational Tech Experience: Prior experience in developing educational software or tools.
• Remote Work Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a remote working environment.
