Contract Duration: 3 Month Contract | UK Healthcare Project

Start Date: Mid/Late April 2025

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Full Stack Software Engineer with experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join a UK-based healthcare development project. This is a 3-month contract role requiring direct client engagement, strong technical expertise, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a mid-to-senior level developer with experience handling complex projects and collaborating with western clients.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Develop and maintain cloud-based applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

🔹 Work with Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, and Firestore to build scalable solutions

🔹 Implement and optimize Firestore security rules, authentication (passwordless sign-in), and hosting

🔹 Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, Express, and TypeScript

🔹 Build frontend applications using React, Bootstrap/MUI, and modern UI frameworks

🔹 Integrate and manage email/SMS services (SendGrid, Mailgun, GovNotify migration)

🔹 Ensure code quality with testing frameworks like Cypress

🔹 Collaborate directly with the UK client, understanding requirements and delivering high-quality solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

✅ 4-5+ years of experience working with western companies

✅ Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including:

• Cloud Run (Firestore triggers, PubSub triggers, API microservices)
• Cloud Functions & Cloud Scheduler
• BigQuery (reporting, data extraction/export)

✅ Experience with Firebase services (Firestore, Authentication, Hosting)

✅ Proficiency in Node.js, React, TypeScript, Express, and Cypress

✅ Strong knowledge of API development, authentication, and security best practices

✅ Experience working independently in a client-managed environment

✅ Availability to start within 4 weeks

Nice-to-Have Skills

🔹 Knowledge of Swagger, Axios, Lodash, Date-fns, React Router, React Helmet

🔹 Experience migrating front-end components from NHS CSS to Bootstrap/MUI

🔹 Background in healthcare-related projects is a plus.
