We are seeking a highly capable, independent Project Planning Engineer with 4 years of experience to take full ownership of our mid-sized construction and thematic fabrication projects. This position requires a self-reliant professional. you must be fully capable of driving a project schedule on your own from inception to closeout.
You will be responsible for creating contract baselines, managing live updates, handling demanding client requirements, and contractually shielding the company by preparing robust Extension of Time (EOT) and Time Impact Analyses (TIA).
Key Responsibilities
- Baseline Development & Ownership: Independently build, logic-link, and establish the contract Baseline (BL) from project drawings and scope. Convert approved contract snapshots into passive reference targets using P6's Maintain Baseline framework.
- Live Progress & Dynamic Updating: Maintain the Active Working Programme, ensuring scheduling logic accurately reflects real-world site constraints and factory production sequences.
- Client Management & Communication: Direct interface with the client and main contractor’s project controls teams. Defend our schedule architecture and manage strict client reporting requirements under pressure.
- Project Reporting: Generate professional, data-backed Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports outlining critical path shifts, physical progress percentages, and milestone variances.
- Defensive Claims & EOT Analysis: Construct robust duration logic to isolate owner or contractor review delays (e.g., slow shop drawing approvals via Procore/Aconex). Independently prepare forensic Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and draft comprehensive Extension of Time (EOT) claim packages to shield the organization from liquidated damages.
Technical Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 4 years of dedicated experience as a project planner, ideally within specialized subcontracting, thematic fabrication, entertainment architecture, or complex fit-out projects.
- Software Mastery: Strong, hands-on proficiency in Primavera P6 Professional. Experience mapping P6 project data into construction management platforms like Procore is highly advantageous.
- Forensic Scheduling Skills: Solid understanding of delay analysis methodologies (specifically Time Impact Analysis) and the ability to mathematically prove delay liability within P6.
- WBS & Logic Architecture: Experience structuring functional Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) that track the full package lifecycle—from engineering drafting and passive review periods to procurement and installation.
