We are looking for a Data Scientist who will be based in Turkey and be responsible for supporting the PMI Global Travel Retail Data & Solutions team. This role will be a member of the PMI GTR Data & Solutions team, supporting the Manager Advanced Analytics with a fully global remit, across all functions of the business. The ideal candidate will apply advanced data science techniques to analyze data, build diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics solutions, generate valuable insights from data, and effectively leverage novel technologies, such as Generative AI, to automate data science workflows. This role involves working with both structured and unstructured data, utilizing specialized programming languages and tools to drive effective decision-making and create business value.

- Apply mathematics, statistics, data mining, predictive, and prescriptive modelling techniques to gain insights from data.
- Develop and implement data science models using specialized programming languages and tools.
- Source, prepare, and clean data for analysis.
- Identify, validate, and exploit internal and external data sets.
- Develop hypotheses and explore data using models and analytics sandboxes.
- Evaluate and improve the performance of data science models.
- Work closely with Data Engineers to ensure data pipelines are optimized for model training and deployment.
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through reports and visualizations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science solutions into business processes.

You
- Hold an M.Sc. degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Have at least 3 years of professional experience in data science or a related field.
- Are proficient in Python.
- Are experienced with data manipulation and analysis using libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
- Have knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Are experienced with data visualization tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly to present findings.
- Are experienced with cloud platforms, specifically Amazon AWS (e.g., S3, EC2, SageMaker).
- Are experienced with Jupyter, Snowflake, Docker, and Atlassian suite (Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence).
- Are familiar with big data technologies such as Spark.
- Have knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) techniques.
- Are familiar with version control systems like Git.
- Are experienced with open-source data science tools and libraries.
- Understand SQL and experience with relational databases.
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Are naturally curious to explore data and uncover hidden patterns.
- Engage in innovative thinking to develop new models and approaches.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and effective time management to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
