Software Engineer in Test

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with software engineers, developers, and UX/UI teams to improve product quality.
• Serve as a Full Stack SDET in agile teams, building automated tests using Java, Selenium, Maven, and IntelliJ.
• Automate functional, integration, API, security, and performance tests for web-based applications.
• Write and maintain complex SQL queries for test data setup and validation.
• Build and run automation frameworks in Docker containers.
• Work closely with QA and DevOps teams to manage and maintain test environments.
• Develop and run load and performance tests.
• Support unit testing efforts and coordinate with developers on test strategies.
• Conduct code reviews and help set programming standards.
• Mentor and guide junior automation engineers; assist in hiring QA team members.
• Troubleshoot and fix issues from automated regression tests.
• Analyze and review technical specs to write clear test plans and provide feedback.
• Track bugs, manage backlogs, and run bug triage sessions.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and standard SDLC activities.
• Provide detailed reports and contribute to QA metrics and process improvements.

Requirements:

• 5+ years in software QA or equivalent, with at least 3+ years as an SDET.
• Strong experience with test automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, TestNG, Maven, and IntelliJ.
• Solid understanding of OOP, SQL, and database testing.
• Proficient in API testing with REST Assured; SOAP experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with Docker and distributed systems like AWS.
• Experience with Agile and the “whole team” QA approach.
• Skilled in version control (Git), JIRA, command line tools (Bash, PuTTY), and test case management.
• Able to build scalable, maintainable test frameworks and improve existing ones.
• Experience writing unit tests and incorporating them into broader test suites.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

• Experience with JavaScript, PHP, and performance testing tools.
• Background in testing enterprise SaaS applications.
• Leadership and mentoring experience in QA teams.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments.
