About the Role

As a Platform Engineer, you'll help build and operate the cloud-native foundation that enables engineering teams to deliver products quickly, securely, and reliably.

You'll work across infrastructure, networking, observability, automation, and platform tooling while helping shape the future of a modern Kubernetes-based environment.

What You'll Be Working On

• Operating and improving Kubernetes-based production environments

• Building and maintaining cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and GitOps practices

• Improving observability through monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting solutions

• Supporting CI/CD pipelines and platform automation initiatives

• Enhancing platform security, reliability, cost efficiency, and developer experience

• Researching and evaluating new cloud-native technologies and platform solutions

• Collaborating closely with software engineers and cross-functional teams

Requirements

Must Have

• 5+ years of infrastructure/platform engineering experience

• Production experience operating Kubernetes environments

• Strong hands-on experience with GCP

• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code expertise

• Strong understanding of GitOps principles and GitHub workflows

• Knowledge of cloud-native architecture and containerized systems

• Understanding of networking, APIs, REST, and gRPC concepts

• Security-focused mindset and experience with cloud security best practices

• Business-level English and Japanese communication skills

• Currently residing in Japan

Preferred

• SRE experience including SLOs, error budgets, and incident management

• Experience with ArgoCD, Istio, and observability platforms

• AWS experience

• Strong networking knowledge (VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, BGP)

• Coding experience in Go, Python, or Bash

• Experience with PCI-DSS environments

• Open-source contributions
