Senior Software Engineer - Backend

We are looking for talented Senior Engineers to join our Engineering Organization. This team is responsible for building and maintaining our product and infrastructure. Your work will have an immediate impact on customers. As a Senior Engineer you will work on all aspects of our stack, while partnering with product and design to deliver best in class experiences that empower our customers. Come build valuable AI!

This is a backend-heavy role but you will be expected to participate in developing all levels of our application, from frontend to infrastructure to dev-ops.

What You Will Do:

• Own new features from planning to deployment
• Bring our customer experiences to the next level by staying up-to-date on the latest technologies
• Participate in technology and architecture design decisions
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to design, plan, prototype and implement new and exciting features
• Mentor more junior engineers and be responsible for the technical direction for your domain

Your Skills:

• 7+ year experience with software development with a focus on backends and microservices
• Proficient with Typescript, Node.js, Java, or other backend API frameworks
• Experience with Relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Working with ambiguity - we move fast and trust our team to come with solutions for, and often make, business-critical decisions

Bonus Points:

• Experience with AWS
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with automation testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines (yes, we have CD!)
• Proficient with a JavaScript UI framework like React, Vue, Angular, etc, or a hunger to learn them

Interview Process:

• Take home test (not timed, should take about 2 hours)
• Take home test review with hiring manager (30 min)
• Systems Design Interview (1 hour)
• Chat with CEO and/or co-founder (25 minutes)
• Peer Panel (1 hour)
• Background Check

Compensation:

• $90,000 - $190,000 base - subject to interview performance, geographic location, professional history, etc.
• Approximately 10% bonus paid quarterly based off of completion criteria of quarterly objectives (historical payout above 90%, but past performance does not indicate future results)
