Senior Backend Developer (Node.js / TypeScript)

Our client is building smart, AI-powered tools that sit at the centre of workforce safety, compliance, and onboarding. From logistics warehouses to high-risk construction zones, their systems ensure that every person on-site is trained, registered, and ready — before they even walk through the door.

They’re now looking for a seasoned Node.js engineer to join their product engineering team. You’ll be a driving force behind one of the most practical, purpose-driven platforms in the country — used daily by thousands of contractors and staff across Australia and beyond.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and scaling back-end microservices in Node.js and TypeScript
• Working closely with product, compliance, and AI teams to power next-gen safety platforms
• Helping transition legacy services as the stack modernises (Scala experience a plus, but not essential)
• Driving architectural decisions in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Engaging with cutting-edge AI tooling — think smart decision engines, automation, and embedded intelligence

What Our Client Is Looking For:

• 5+ years’ experience in backend engineering with strong Node.js/TypeScript fundamentals
• Exposure to modern DevOps practices, REST APIs, and scalable architecture
• Curiosity and comfort navigating unfamiliar codebases — bridging legacy and modern systems
• A team player with excellent communication skills who thrives in product-led teams
