Senior .NET Software Engineer

PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Senior .NET Software Engineer on a Direct Hire basis. This role can be based remotely anywhere in the United States. No third parties.

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a remote, Agile development team building high-quality, scalable SaaS solutions. The organization primarily operates in a .NET environment, but also supports legacy applications written in PHP, Ruby, and other technologies due to past acquisitions. This position requires strong hands-on experience with .NET, along with a willingness to explore and contribute across multiple tech stacks. Ideal candidates are self-starters who thrive in fast-paced environments, demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, and embrace opportunities to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions using .NET Core and related technologies.
• Support existing applications, including legacy systems written in PHP, Ruby, and other languages, while contributing to long-term modernization efforts.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver impactful features.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and promote best practices around coding standards, test automation, and system performance.
• Debug and refactor legacy codebases, ensuring stability and maintainability during ongoing transitions to modern stacks.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
• Continuously stay current with emerging technologies and development practices to bring innovation to the team.
• Engage in full lifecycle development from design through deployment and support.
• Assist in developing and maintaining deployment pipelines and DevOps workflows.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with recent experience working in .NET environments.
• Proficiency with .NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, and C#, preferably within cloud platforms such as AWS (Azure/GCP acceptable).
• Comfortable working across multiple tech stacks including PHP (Laravel), Ruby on Rails, and MySQL; prior experience is helpful but not required.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of software design principles (SOLID), architectural patterns, and modern engineering practices.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and learn unfamiliar technologies or tools as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience working in SaaS environments, multi-product ecosystems, or Agile teams is preferred.
