PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Lead .NET Software Engineer on a Direct Hire basis. This role can be based remotely anywhere in the United States. No third parties.
Summary
We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join a remote, Agile team focused on delivering scalable, high-quality SaaS solutions. While the organization primarily develops in .NET, it also maintains several legacy products built in PHP, Ruby, and other stacks due to acquisitions. This role requires strong hands-on experience with .NET technologies, a willingness to work across multiple stacks, and prior leadership or mentorship experience to help guide and grow the team. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, comfortable with change, and eager to take initiative in learning and contributing across the full technology spectrum.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers through development cycles, code reviews, and performance feedback.
- Design and build scalable, maintainable software solutions, primarily in .NET and cloud-based environments.
- Work across legacy and modern tech stacks, supporting both new feature development and ongoing modernization efforts.
- Foster a collaborative, agile development culture focused on technical excellence, ownership, and continuous learning.
- Guide architectural decisions, enforce coding standards, and promote best practices including test automation and DevOps.
- Participate in hands-on development, including debugging, refactoring, and enhancing existing applications.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficiency across teams.
- Support initiatives to modernize acquired legacy applications into a unified .NET-based platform over time.
- Encourage curiosity, proactivity, and adaptability within the team when tackling unfamiliar technologies or challenges.
Required Skills
- 6+ years of software development experience, including recent leadership or mentorship responsibilities.
- Strong proficiency with .NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, and C# in cloud-based environments (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP acceptable).
- Experience working with or around PHP (Laravel), Ruby on Rails, and MySQL in a production environment is helpful, but not required. Candidates must still have a willingness to learn and work across different tech stacks.
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies including React and TypeScript.
- Understanding of SOLID principles, web application architecture, and design patterns.
- Comfortable navigating legacy systems while contributing to modernization efforts.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively learn new tools or languages as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with SaaS platforms or multi-product environments is preferred.
