While we began as a Startup, in Braga, Portugal, we’ve grown in both teams and markets in which we operate. PeekMed now has customers and partners all over the world.

Need to know more? Well, orthopedic surgeries are a complex ecosystem that involves healthcare practitioners, patients, hospitals, and industry players.

Using Artificial Intelligence and other technologies, we provide insights that not only allow orthopedic surgeons to plan the surgery in seconds but make it safer for the patient and cost-effective for the hospital and the industry.

We are not only developing a software solution. We are creating knowledge. Right now, we have PeekMed fully implemented, but we are working on other solutions to transform the healthcare industry with technology. For that to happen, we need you.

Who are you? A Backend Developer

Looking for a job as a Backend Developer where you can make a difference, be part of a global growing healthcare company and with no limits or restrictions? Glad we found each other.

You are a Backend Developer with the needed skills to build a complex product across several platforms. With us, you will provide solutions to our customers' specific needs, specifically concerning the interaction between frontend and backend development of the software.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills and solid backend experience with Node.js frameworks such as Express.js, Koa, NestJS, or similar;
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining production backend services, including REST APIs, service integration, authentication, distributed systems, and databases;
• Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, deployments, containerisation, cloud environments, monitoring, observability, and production troubleshooting;
• Good understanding of infrastructure and availability concepts, including networking, DNS, TLS, load balancers, reverse proxies, logging, monitoring, and alerting;
• Motivation to grow further in DevOps, cloud, and production operations;
• 4+ years of professional experience in backend development or similar software engineering roles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English.

Nice to have:

• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms and services such as EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, Lambda, SQS, or API Gateway;
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, container orchestration, NoSQL databases, asynchronous processing, event-driven architectures, or message brokers;
• Awareness of security, compliance, and data privacy concerns in production systems;
• Experience in healthcare, medical software, regulated environments, or systems handling sensitive data.

And while this technical mastery is essential, it is essential to be a team player, with good communication skills. It’s people who make PeekMed.
