- This is a remote role open to candidates residing in Romania.
As a Software Engineer, you will be crucial to developing and maintaining PDQ products. As a member of the engineering team, you will have various responsibilities, including implementing new functionality, eliminating bugs, maintaining our code, and growing as an engineer. You will be involved across the entire product lifecycle, from ideation through building, testing, deploying, monitoring and supporting critical systems.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing new features and improvements to our Rust-based Windows and Mac service
- Work within CI/CD delivering code as a team daily
- Collaborate with teams to deliver on project priorities
- Work with customers and team members on technical issues including software outages, security risks, maintenance, deployment, customer support tickets
- Conduct research and prototype efforts with autonomy
- Exchange constructive, respectful and frank code reviews with your peers
We're Looking For People Who Have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related degree, or equivalent experience
- Experience developing Rust applications with Tokio or multithreaded concurrency patterns
- Experience developing cross-platform applications for Windows and macOS (our Rust code runs on both)
- Proven ability to build reliable, fault-tolerant networked applications using HTTP and WebSockets
- 4+ years of experience working on a variety of professional software development projects
- Agile development experience
- Experience engaging with open-source projects and communities

- Ability to understand a problem space and make code changes safely
