Job Description:
The Engineer of Records (EoR) is responsible for engineering design and execution of the System Engineering, Traction Power System (TPS), and Power SCADA subsystems of a high-speed rail electrification solution.
Subsystem Scope Includes:
- System Engineering: Strategies, concepts, and studies (e.g., Earthing & Bonding, RAMS, Traction Load Flow, Short Circuit).
- TPS: HV Intake Substations, TSS (ATS-PP/ATS-SP), 12kV Auxiliary Power Substations.
- Other Components: Static Phase Converters (SPC), Overhead Catenary System (OCS), and Power SCADA.
Responsibilities:
- Certify, stamp, and seal designs including drawings, specifications, calculations, and BOM/BOQ.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (building, electrical, safety, railway).
- Coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
- Lead quality, safety, and design integrity efforts across all phases.
- Perform validation and technical reviews.
Key Qualifications:
Mandatory:
- Minimum 15 years of relevant subsystem experience in the U.S., particularly in high-speed rail power.
- Licensed Professional Engineer of Records in California and Nevada (or eligible candidates with comparable licensure).
Optional:
- Experience with international or federal compliance processes.
- Familiarity with latest rail electrification technologies and regulatory trends.
- Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
