User Experience is the function that applies principles and techniques of discovery, research, design, and content strategy to define the experience a user has in a product.?

As a Senior Product Designer, you will lead design initiatives across multiple products, to help identify and solve challenges for the Paylocity user groups within the Product organization. You are a storyteller, have a diverse set of skills, are a driver of change, are open to new possibilities, are impact-oriented, and have a great cultural fit. This role will report to the

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners and development team members to shepherd end-to-end experiences from concept to ship for products.
• Display complete independence in leading the initiation of small- to medium-sized projects.
• Effectively communicate project needs and clearly define the required tasks to accomplish the objectives.
• Expertly make design decisions based on a strong rationale, balancing user insights, business goals, technical feasibility, and design principles.
• Facilitate ideation sessions and workshops involving designers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
• Deep understanding of IA (Information Architecture) and navigation patterns at a platform level and provide IA recommendations based on this knowledge.
• Expertly break down problems into component parts, identify patterns or trends, and make informed decisions.
• Effectively share design files with development teams and stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and feedback exchange.
• Ensure development is of quality by diligently tracking development bugs and missed requirements.
• Expertise in creating grid-based and structured arrangements that are device-appropriate and align with our design system.
• Guide communication with cross-disciplinary teams, cultivate communication workstreams across groups, and demonstrate executive maturity in communication interactions.
• Actively engage in thought leadership and industry events, sharing your expertise and contributing to the broader UX community.
• Proactively communicate and share information outside your immediate team or organization, promoting transparency and collaboration.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Cognition, Interaction Design, or Human Factors. Candidates with 5-7 years of applied experience within the UX field.
• Excellent visual, communication, and presentation skills.
• Must be able to tackle complex design problems in undefined problem spaces.
• Possess a broad set of UX skills and advanced experience in design and system design within a complex information architecture.
• Proven ability to collaborate with and influence product/engineering counterparts in an organization.

Preferred Skills

• Experience designing for SaaS products in an agile environment.
• Familiarity with AI patterns, machine learning, and prior partnership with data science teams with referenceable examples of implementation.
• Proven experience in mentoring and coaching team members.
• Experience working with UX Research teams interpreting data and sharing insights with others.
• Stay up to date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, and can adapt to changing design requirements
