Operational Product Owner

pawaTech is looking for an Operational Product Owner with a collaborative mindset and a strong sense of ownership. In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams to deliver and improve compliance-related systems, including integrations with third-party reporting solutions.

You will partner with stakeholders across the organisation to gather requirements, prioritise initiatives, and ensure solutions are aligned with both operational and regulatory needs. Reporting to the Compliance Operations team, you will also contribute to broader compliance initiatives and help drive improvements across systems and processes.

What you’ll be doing:

• Oversee integrations with third-party systems and ensure they meet compliance and operational requirements;
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritise work, and manage cross-team initiatives;
• Drive delivery of regulatory, AML/KYC, and data-related features across multiple systems;
• Validate and align technical solutions with business and compliance needs;
• Enhance existing systems for scalability, reliability, and alignment with evolving requirements;
• Identify gaps in current processes and drive improvements to reduce operational and compliance risks;
• Support audit readiness and ensure systems and processes are properly aligned and documented;
• Monitor and manage change requests, incidents, and ongoing operational activities;
• Improve internal workflows and coordination across compliance, product, and engineering teams.

What makes you a great candidate:

• 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or in a similar role within software delivery;
• Strong background in business analysis, with the ability to translate complex requirements into structured solutions;
• Experience working with engineering teams in Agile environments;
• Solid understanding of compliance in regulated environments;
• Ability to read, interpret, and work with legal and regulatory documentation;
• Experience in finance, payments, or audit-related domains is a strong advantage;
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with data, metrics, and spreadsheets;
• High attention to detail, especially when working with complex documentation and requirements;
• Ability to prioritise effectively and apply pragmatic decision-making (e.g. 80/20 rule);
• Experience in process design and optimisation;
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills;
• Self-starter with the ability to challenge existing solutions and think independently;
• Fluent in English.
