Title: Senior Content Marketing Manager

Reports to: VP, Marketing

Our year-round membership model provides clients with expert tax and financial guidance, helping them feel more secure and realize their long-term financial goals. Founded 30 years ago by Paul Hood, our company has grown rapidly and now serves over 15,000 customers nationwide. To support our continued growth, we have completely modernized our business with technology and processes more akin to a SaaS company than a CPA firm.

In response to this growth, we're seeking a talented Senior Content Marketing Manager to join our dynamic marketing team. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind our content strategy, crafting compelling copy that engages both clients and prospects across multiple channels. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting the full marketing funnel, from attracting new leads to nurturing existing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Season Content: Leverage your exceptional writing skills to create clear, informative, and engaging tax-related content for both individuals and businesses. This includes blog posts, social media updates, email campaigns, and other mediums to simplify complex tax topics, position PaulHood as a thought leader, and nurture client relationships.
  • Client and Prospect Engagement: Develop and execute clear communication plans that guide current clients through their ‘to-do’ list of tasks and keep them on track during their tax filing process. Additionally, keep current clients and prospects informed and engaged on topics such as year-end planning, retirement strategies, college savings, and tax season updates to help drive the value of a year round membership with PaulHood.
  • Full-Funnel Content: Play a vital role in supporting the entire marketing funnel, from attracting new prospects with compelling lead magnets and landing pages, to nurturing leads with impactful and tailored email campaigns, and ultimately fostering client loyalty with ongoing value-driven content.
  • SEO and Comms Execution: Take the lead in implementing the SEO strategy, managing vendor progress to ensure they are hitting their goals and making progress as expected with regular reporting throughout.
  • Craft engaging and informative monthly newsletters that provide valuable insights to clients and prospects
  • Write, maintain, and update website content, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and a positive user experience
  • Write persuasive copy for email nurture campaigns that guide leads through the sales funnel and encourage conversions
  • Develop press releases and other communications to effectively announce and promote new office acquisitions and other news stories
  • Create and schedule engaging social media content that builds brand awareness and fosters online community engagement
  • Write detailed thought leadership white-papers, e-books, and guides for multiple points in the prospect or client customer journey

Who You Are

  • Exceptional Writing Skills: You are a writer at heart with a proven ability to write clear, concise, and compelling copy that resonates with target audiences
  • Content Strategy Experience: You possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a content-focused role, demonstrating a deep understanding of content creation, distribution, and measurement
  • Analytical and Data Driven: You have experience with tracking and reporting KPIs and ROI from content related initiatives
  • Financial Acumen: While experience in the finance/tax/accounting field is preferred, it's not required. A strong interest in and ability to quickly grasp financial, tax and accounting concepts is essential.
  • Adaptability: You possess a willingness to work on a variety of projects and channels, adapting your writing style and tone as needed
  • Collaborative Spirit: You’re a team player who enjoys working with others to achieve common goals

Experience and Education You Will Need

  • 5+ years of experience as a Content Marketing Manager
  • Prior early growth-stage or start-up experience
  • Extensive experience writing copy that nurtures existing client relationships and engagement, as well as copy that moves prospects through the sales funnel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing
  • Hands on experience with SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Expertise in social media platforms (LinkedIn, Meta, TikTok)
  • Project management skills, problem solver, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, HubSpot and WordPress (Qount a plus)
