Distributed Systems Engineer / Software Engineer - AI Trainer

By working together, we can better align AI models with human values and develop more helpful, honest, and harmless AI models.

We are seeking Distributed Systems Engineers / Software Engineers with expertise in large-scale distributed computing for a cutting-edge AI safety training project with a frontier research lab. Your expertise in systems engineering will establish human performance baselines, which will help evaluate AI capabilities.

Key Skills:

• 4+ years of experience in distributed systems, cloud computing, or software engineering.
• Strong understanding of fault tolerance, consistency models, race conditions, and cluster computing.
• Hands-on experience with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Ray)
• Proficiency in Linux-based systems, including sysadmin tools and best practices
• Strong Python skills (capable of working on Python-based tasks as needed)
• Experience with C++, Java, Bash, or Shell scripting is a plus

This fully remote project is open to participants based in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Compensation is $75 - $100 USD per approved hour of work. Work hours are flexible with an expected commitment of 10+ hours per week for around 4 weeks.
