Position: Senior Program Manager (Project Engineering)
Location: Chattanooga, TN (REMOTE)
Summary:
- The Senior Program Manager is responsible for all engineering and technical oversight associated with assigned capital projects developed and executed by the respective department within GPFS (General Parallel File System)
- Duties include development of engineering contracts, control of project design, compliance with TVA & industry standards, QA/QC, and management of engineering budgets & schedules
- Candidates must have an Active Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification as offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI) or be working toward one
- This position is Remote, with occasional travel to Chattanooga, TN
Responsibilities:
- For assigned projects, this position leads engineering for scoping, study, design, procurement, construction, and ensures replication of engineering solutions
- This role establishes and communicates engineering priorities to contract partners, project team members, and management
- It also provides leadership and technical direction to the project design and execution team while ensuring quality products from design firms, contractors, and OEMs meet or exceed project requirements
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Utility Project Manager experience, or equivalent functional area work experience with increasing levels of position responsibility
- Knowledge of Project Management techniques, experience to resolve complex problems, and practical experience in project scoping and cost estimating
- Ability to analyze in-depth technical problems and determine the most cost-effective solution
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or Technical Field, or equivalent education, training, and/or related work experience
- Master’s Degree is preferred, but not required
- Candidates must have an Active Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification as offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI) or be working toward one
- Leadership competencies, such as communication skills, business acumen, problem solving, and other related competencies required for Project Management Professionals
- Experience with Primavera P6 is preferred
