Appian Software Engineer

Location: Remote - Portugal

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using the Appian BPM platform
• Build user interfaces, process models, and business rules using SAIL and other Appian tools
• Integrate Appian with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs and databases
• Collaborate with business analysts to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and support of Appian applications
• Ensure application performance, quality, and security standards
• Document technical designs and support application lifecycle activities
• Work within Agile teams and participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives

Requirements:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with the Appian platform
• At least Appian Certified Associate Developer certification (or higher)
• (We also value candidates who hold prior certifications like the Appian Certified Associate Developer)
• Deep knowledge of BPMN, process modeling, and low-code application development
• Experience integrating Appian with RPA tools such as Appian RPA, UiPath, or Blue Prism
• Proficient with Appian objects: process models, interfaces, CDTs, expression rules, records, sites, and plug-ins
• Fluent Spanish, and comfortable communicating in English
• Proactive mindset and strong communication skills
• Comfortable working in fully remote, distributed teams

Nice to have:

• Appian Certified Senior Developer certification
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps for Appian deployments
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
