Position Overview
Over The Top (OTT) is a results-driven digital marketing agency dedicated to helping clients dominate their local markets. We leverage cutting-edge SEO techniques, data-driven insights, and the latest industry best practices to give our clients a competitive edge. We’re looking for a Local SEO Specialist who can develop and execute powerful local search strategies to ensure our clients achieve top visibility on Google’s Local Pack and in organic search results.
As a Local SEO Specialist at OTT, you will be responsible for optimizing our clients’ online visibility in local markets by implementing, monitoring, and improving local SEO protocols. You’ll work closely with our SEO and account management teams to deliver comprehensive strategies that cover Google Business Profile optimization, local on-page SEO, review management, local link building, and more.
We are currently hiring candidates from: Utah, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, California, and Florida.
Key Responsibilities
Google Business Profile (GBP) Optimization
- Claim, verify, and optimize Google Business Profile listings for multiple clients.
- Ensure accurate and consistent Name, Address, Phone (NAP) details.
- Select the most relevant categories, add compelling images, create posts, and update attributes.
On-Page Local SEO
- Conduct local keyword research and integrate targeted location + keyword phrases into meta tags, headings, and content.
- Implement structured data (Schema.org) to highlight business details and reviews.
- Create and optimize location-specific landing pages for multi-location clients.
Review & Reputation Management
- Develop strategies to encourage positive customer reviews across key platforms (Google, Yelp, niche directories).
- Monitor reviews, respond promptly, and address negative feedback professionally.
- Analyze review sentiment to identify improvement opportunities.
Local Link Building & Citations
- Identify and secure high-quality inbound links from local chambers of commerce, community websites, and industry-specific publications.
- Maintain and update local citations to ensure NAP consistency across top directories and aggregators.
- Track, audit, and rectify inconsistent citations using tools or manual checks.
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor local search rankings, click-through rates, website traffic, and conversion metrics.
- Provide regular performance reports and insights to internal teams and clients.
- Use data to continually refine strategies and demonstrate ROI.
Competitive Analysis & Strategy
- Perform competitor research to identify strengths, weaknesses, and new local opportunities.
- Stay current with updates in local search algorithms and industry best practices.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with content writers, web developers, and account managers to ensure cohesive local SEO efforts.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their local SEO progress, challenges, and next steps.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on local SEO experience, preferably in an agency setting.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with local SEO tools (e.g., Whitespark, BrightLocal, Yext) and standard SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush).
- GBP Expertise: Proven track record of optimizing Google Business Profiles for multiple clients.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and reporting.
- Attention to Detail: A passion for accuracy in citations and content optimization.
- Adaptability: Capacity to keep up with changing search engine algorithms, tools, and best practices.
