About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior EHR Integration Engineer with deep experience in healthcare interoperability and LIS (Laboratory Information System) integrations. The ideal candidate will design and build a secure integration application to fetch, process, and report lab data (including barcode and human-readable data) from LIS platforms such as Copath and other diagnostic systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop secure integration applications to extract, process, and store lab data from LIS systems.
Build workflows to compile extracted LIS data into CSV/TXT formats and save in shared cache/network directories.
Enable dual-column reporting with human-readable data and embedded barcode information for each sample block/slide.
Create mechanisms to fetch and process barcode and dual-code data directly from LIS systems through reports and APIs.
Collaborate with pathologists, lab IT teams, and EHR vendors to ensure seamless interoperability.
Develop, test, and deploy LIS integration solutions with a focus on scalability, reliability, and HIPAA compliance.
Troubleshoot and optimize data exchange between LIS and downstream applications (EHRs, diagnostic systems, reporting tools).
Provide technical guidance and documentation to internal and client teams.
Required Skills & Experience
5 years of experience in EHR/LIS integration engineering.
Hands-on experience with LIS platforms (e.g., Copath LIS, Sunquest, Cerner PathNet, or similar).
Strong knowledge of HL7 v2/v3, FHIR, ASTM, API-based integrations.
Proficiency in database technologies (SQL/NoSQL) and scripting (Python, Java, or C#).
Experience handling barcode and lab sample data integrations.
Deep understanding of HIPAA, PHI security, and healthcare compliance standards.
Familiarity with lab workflows, diagnostic data, and reporting mechanisms.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and performance optimization skills.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
