Job Title: Remote Software Engineer (12-Month Contract)

Location: Remote (U.S. Based)
Contract Length: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $65-$70 per hour (W2 or 1099, based on qualifications)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer for a full-time remote contract position. This role involves building scalable backend systems, working with modern microservice architectures, and contributing to high-impact projects across a distributed team. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python.
• Develop and optimize relational database schemas and queries using PostgreSQL.
• Build and manage scalable microservices with best practices in mind.
• Integrate internal and third-party APIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, DevOps, and QA.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team stand-ups.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience with Python (Flask, FastAPI, or similar frameworks preferred).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL including performance tuning and advanced query optimization.
• 2+ years building and deploying microservices in production environments.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs or third-party API integrations.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

Contract Details

• Duration: 12 months with potential for extension.
• Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week).
• Remote: 100% remote (must be authorized to work in the U.S.).
