Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled, driven, and adaptable Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience developing medium- to high-complexity products and services.

Our client is revolutionizing medicine by developing cutting-edge genetic products that combine advanced technology and scientific innovation. By leveraging unique genomic and clinical data, we aim to accelerate research breakthroughs and improve patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct system analysis, assess risk, provide estimations, and develop technical designs and implementation strategies.
Troubleshoot, debug, and perform root cause analysis for product issues or defects.
Develop high-quality code, write unit tests, and conduct code reviews.
Collaborate with product owners and end-users to define requirements and translate them into reliable, scalable, and operations-friendly features.
Create and maintain detailed software specifications based on requirements.
Work closely with developers, quality engineers, and product managers throughout the SDLC to ensure quality at every stage.

Qualifications

BS in Computer Science, comparable program, or equivalent.
5+ years of software development experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Recent hands-on experience with Java, preferably using open-source frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
Strong understanding of software engineering principles (OOP, SOLID, etc.).
Experience designing and developing REST APIs.
Proficiency in relational databases and advanced SQL.
Familiarity with message brokers/queues (Apache Kafka, AWS SQS) is a plus.
Experience with cloud technologies, AWS is preferred.
Strong Linux knowledge and command-line scripting skills.
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across multiple time zones.
Bioinformatics or Healthcare IT experience is beneficial but not required.
