Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is building the world’s most powerful and scalable platform for AI and Compute. The AI Infrastructure organization develops and operates systems that enable customers to train and deploy large-scale machine learning models across thousands of GPUs.
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist (IC3) to join the GPU Data Science team within OCI's AI Compute. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data systems and contribute to analytical and machine learning initiatives that improve OCI’s infrastructure efficiency, performance, and customer experience.
This role blends data engineering, applied machine learning, and analytical problem-solving to enable data-driven decision-making for OCI’s rapidly growing AI and Compute ecosystem. You will work alongside senior data scientists and engineers to build solutions that transform raw data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain reliable, scalable data pipelines that power analytics, business intelligence, and machine learning initiatives.
- Support the design and implementation of statistical and machine learning models for predictive analytics, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis, data cleaning, and feature engineering to support modeling and experimentation.
- Partner with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Product, and Operations—to identify opportunities for automation and data-driven decision support.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and compliance with governance standards across multiple data systems.
- Participate in data lifecycle management, including data ingestion, transformation, validation, and monitoring.
- Contribute to building and maintaining dashboards and visualizations for performance and operational metrics.
- Collaborate on the development and maintenance of data lake and warehouse architectures.
- Support MLOps workflows including model testing, monitoring, and retraining in collaboration with senior scientists.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies in data science, GenAI, and cloud-scale analytics to improve processes and efficiency.
- Communicate analytical results and data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and documentation of analytical best practices.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, data science, or applied analytics.
- Demonstrated experience working with large-scale data systems, data warehouses, or cloud data platforms.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in SQL and one or more programming languages such as Python or Java.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as OCI, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt, Spark, or equivalent).
- Exposure to machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Oracle Analytics Cloud, Tableau, or Power BI).
- Knowledge of software engineering practices including version control, testing, and CI/CD.
- Understanding of data quality, governance, and security fundamentals.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with distributed data systems, GPU-based analytics, or large-scale data processing.
- Exposure to MLOps tools and processes for model monitoring and deployment.
- Interest in emerging AI technologies such as LLMs and GenAI applications.
- Familiarity with APIs and integrations across cloud environments.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $91,100 - $199,500 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
