Job Description
Seeking a Senior Software Developer to meet the support needs of the Oracle Linux, Virtualization, and Systems organization. This candidate will join the Systems Lab Operations (LabOps) team in development of DevOps style software solutions for configuring and managing the IT environment used to enable product development efforts for Oracle Linux, Virtualization, Cloud, Solaris, and Engineered Systems.
The applicant will utilize their software development skills along with their knowledge of system administration roles to re-architect and automate routine systems administration tasks and help develop infrastructure as code style solutions to ensure consistency and scalability of support processes and solutions.
A successful candidate will possess the following:
Expertise as a Software Engineer with knowledge and experience in developing solutions for cloud, security, system administration, IaaS, etc.
Strong understanding of traditional monolithic and cloud-native application frameworks Understanding of security principals related to networking and cloud security Ability to derive and implement solutions applicable to both on-prem and cloud resources Experience planning and delivering cloud migration projects from traditional on-premise deployment models Experience integrating cloud-native alerting and monitoring solutions. Ability to translate workload requirements into public cloud or hybrid cloud technical architecture, incorporating Compute, Networking and Storage requirements. Proven understanding of common web service design patterns such as REST and gRPC. Curiosity and willingness to learn new skills, work with new tools, and discover and deliver new and innovative approaches to solving complex technical challenges. Cloud experience and/or certification (Oracle, AWS, Azure, Google, etc.)

Responsibilities
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 - $223,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
