Optomi, in partnership with a leading food distribution company, is seeking a UX Designer to support the development of innovative enterprise solutions within logistics and transportation.
This role will focus on user-centered design for a data-intensive, enterprise SaaS platform.
The UX Designer will need experience in enterprise and data-heavy applications to lead discovery efforts, uncover user needs, and translate complex workflows into intuitive designs. This position plays a key role in improving digital tools for logistics and transportation operations, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience for stakeholders.
This is a remote contract-to-hire position, operating on CST or EST hours (must be based in the U.S.).
What You Will Do:
- Lead UX discovery and design efforts, including stakeholder interviews and usability testing.
- Uncover user pain points and mental models within logistics and pricing workflows.
- Translate complex business rules and technical constraints into intuitive design solutions.
- Develop journey maps, service blueprints, wireframes, prototypes, and UI mockups.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align designs with business logic, data models, and system requirements.
- Advocate for accessible, responsive, and task-focused designs in a data-heavy enterprise environment.
- Design and iterate for multiple modules of the Logistics Freight Rate Management System v2 (LFRM 2.0), aiming to modernize freight rate calculations, management, and validation.
The Right Candidate Will Have:
- 4+ years of UX design experience, preferably in B2B or enterprise SaaS.
- Strong background designing for data-intensive platforms in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or finance.
- Proficiency with Figma and Excel; additional tools experience is a plus.
- Expertise in information architecture, workflow modeling, and interaction design for complex systems.
- Experience designing applications with role-based access, multi-step workflows, and structured data inputs/outputs.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced Agile environment while managing multiple projects.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience in transportation, freight, TMS, or rate management systems.
- Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, and backend data models.
- Strong systems thinking mindset to simplify and clarify complex logic.
