Optomi, in partnership with a leading scientific research organization, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer with expertise in Rust to help shape the future of an open workflow computation engine. You’ll play a key role in closing the gap between what the application is today and what it can become, working across multiple open-source projects to advance both the engine itself and the global specifications it depends on. This is a long-term, renewing contract with full benefits included.

Experience of the right candidate:

8+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years in Rust
Proven experience leading or contributing to medium- to large-scale open-source projects
Familiarity with GitHub for project planning and workflow management
Experience with API design and developing specifications with OpenAPI/Swagger
Background in workflow execution, scientific computing, or HPC environments (preferred)
