Type of contract: Full-time, Permanent
Position: 5G RAN L1/PHY Engineer
Date: As of now
Location: USA
The candidate must be U.S.-based and authorized to work in the U.S.
Job Description:
The OAI L1 5G stack is a fully open-source implementation of the 5G/NR physical layer (3GPP 38.2xx, Rel. 15), written in C and running on generic Intel/AMD-based and ARM-based CPUs. For both the gNB and UE, it supports all FR1 bandwidths with 256-QAM as well as SISO and 2-layer MIMO in downlink and uplink, and 100 and 200 MHz bandwidths in FR2. It supports all control and transport channels necessary for operation in 5G standalone (SA) mode, as well as SRS and CSI-RS for MIMO operation. The full list of supported features can be found here: https://gitlab.eurecom.fr/oai/openairinterface5g/-/blob/develop/doc/FEATURE_SET.md#gnb-phy.
You will contribute to the improvement of the 5G L1/PHY stack of OAI. Specifically, you will start working on the L1/PHY of the gNB:
We are looking for a telecom dev software engineer with very good knowledge of C/C++. The applicant should have very good knowledge of 3GPP 38.2xx and 38.331 specifications in Release 15+. This means that the applicant should have a background in implementing 3GPP in code (L1 required, L2/L3 as a bonus).
Prior experience with 5G/NR L1 in other implementations and the MATLAB toolbox is a strong plus.
Working on the UE L1/PHY stack can be a possible follow-up.
