Overview:
The UX Designer is responsible for leading and applying a user-centered approach to the design of web and mobile solutions for K–12 curriculum experiences. This role involves leveraging research insights, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and employing a Continuous Discovery framework to create accessible, high-quality instructional materials.
The position requires balancing business needs, technological capabilities, and user feedback to design intuitive, engaging, and effective learning solutions. The UX Designer will independently manage design work within assigned workstreams, partner closely with product and engineering teams, and contribute to shaping design practices that integrate effectively with Agile methodologies.

UX Designer Requirements
- Portfolio demonstrating UX design work in web and mobile solutions, including process and cross-functional collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Visual Communication, Digital Design, Product Design, Human-Centered Design, or related field required; MFA or advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in product development, UX design, product design, creative, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of software usability principles, interface design trends, and responsive design approaches.
- Experience in EdTech product development preferred.
- Proven success leading design efforts across multiple products toward unified solutions.
- Expertise in creating low- and high-fidelity sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and design documentation.
- Proficiency with UX and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Lucid, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite).
- In-depth understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong grasp of accessibility guidelines and ability to design for inclusive user experiences.
- Demonstrated experience working in Agile environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
UX Designer Duties
- Apply human-centered design methodologies to create engaging, intuitive, and accessible user experiences for K–12 curriculum products.
- Develop information architecture, user flows, and interaction design to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with organizational vision.
- Collaborate with UX Research to translate user insights, data, and metrics into actionable design decisions.
- Design and prototype user flows, wireframes, concepts, and interactive models to inform development requirements and technology decisions.
- Present and defend design decisions to peers, stakeholders, and leadership, effectively articulating rationale.
- Lead discussions with stakeholders to gather feedback and translate it into actionable design improvements.
- Create and maintain consistent, research-driven design patterns and contribute to the evolution of the design system.
- Act as an evangelist for user-centered methodologies across cross-functional teams, supporting varying levels of design maturity.
- Solve complex design challenges across multiple initiatives, ensuring solutions fit into the broader platform strategy and user journey.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and strategists to ensure seamless integration of design solutions into Agile workflows.
- Ensure all designs adhere to best practices in usability, accessibility, and responsive design.
