Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable data pipelines and data warehouses using Microsoft Fabric components such as Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and OneLake.
Implement and optimize ETL/ELT workflows integrating diverse data sources including cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), relational databases, and flat files.
Build and maintain semantic data models and dashboards using Power BI and other Fabric tools, ensuring high performance and data accuracy.
Develop and manage medallion architecture following industry best practices for data lakes within Microsoft Fabric.
Ensure rigorous data governance, security, and compliance leveraging Microsoft Purview and native security features.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and fine-tune data pipelines and platform performance, proactively resolving issues and ensuring reliability.
Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Integrate DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automation using scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer on Microsoft Fabric technologies and best practices.
Stay current with Microsoft Fabric updates and emerging data engineering trends.
Additional Responsibilities:
Integration API Monitoring and Incident Escalation: Implement robust monitoring of integration APIs and timely escalation of incidents.
Workspace and Resource Management: Create and manage Microsoft Fabric workspaces; manage Power BI datasets and data flows.
User Administration: Assign roles and permissions; manage user access and licenses to ensure secure and efficient operations.
Basic Reporting: Create basic reports and dashboards; share reports across the organization.
Troubleshooting Connectivity: Quickly identify and resolve connectivity issues impacting data workflows.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years working on Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, an integrated, end-to-end analytics platform built on a SaaS foundation, combining Power BI, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and OneLake into a unified environment.
Experience with Fabric’s data engineering capabilities such as Spark-based transformations, lakehouse architecture using Delta Lake format, and integrated orchestration with Data Factory.
Proven ability to design, build, and manage cloud-based, scalable data pipelines and storage solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Engineering Suite.
Familiarity with Power BI workspace management, datasets, dataflows, user roles, and report sharing within Fabric.
Strong programming skills in SQL and Python.
Hands-on knowledge of data governance, audit logging, and compliance frameworks powered by Microsoft Purview integration in Fabric.
Experience with monitoring tools, incident escalation, and managing API integration within a cloud data ecosystem.
Understanding of Azure Synapse Analytics offerings including Data Warehousing, Data Science, Real-Time Analytics, and how they integrate with Microsoft Fabric.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
