Sr. Software Engineer (Oracle PL/SQL)

Our Media & Entertainment client is actively seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Database (Oracle PL/SQL) to join the team on a contract basis. (approx. 12 months)

Candidates must be able to work on a W2 basis only.

This role focuses on building scalable backend systems that improve operational efficiency, reporting, and business insights across multiple studios and platforms.

You will serve as a senior individual contributor, partnering closely with engineers and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality database and reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate complex business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures, packages, and database objects.
• Design and build reports using Jasper Reports or similar reporting tools.
• Develop and support system interfaces and data conversion processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and data-related issues.
• Optimize database performance through tuning and best practices.
• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to development standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and business analysts to integrate system components.
• Participate in technical and functional discussions for ongoing initiatives.
• Build strong understanding of television production workflows and data models.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum development environment.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Expert-level backend development using Oracle PL/SQL.
• Strong experience with Jasper Reports or similar reporting tools.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
