OCH Technologies is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our development team. The candidate will be responsible for leading a team of developers as well as designing, developing testing and maintaining back-end services and API’s in microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience in building modern, scalable web applications using Java and the Spring Boot framework

Location

Remote –FAA’s William J Hughes Technical Center in Egg Harbor Township, NJ on an as needed basis.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

Independently deliver initiatives/features based on directions from client architects.
Lead/mentor a team of senior developers.
Oversee and lead software development projects.
Own the quality of the product, from code architecture to end-user quality.
Engage in code reviews to ensure team members are contributing code that meets the short and long-term goals of our applications and architecture.
Articulate context internally for the team and to the larger organization.
Consult with architecture, development, infrastructure, and operational teams to address issues relating to application architecture, such as performance or availability, and recommend solutions.
Provide technical coaching to encourage your team to solve technical problems in unique ways.
Ensuring the quality and functionality of software solutions.

Responsibilities may evolve over time to support team and organizational goals, but will remain consistent with the overall scope of the role.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Science.

Experience

At least eight (15) years’ relevant experience
Experience with Cloud, Microservices, DevOps and Angular
Experience with front-end frameworks like Angular-8 and above, React JS, Ionic etc.
Experience in building applications utilizing Spring Boot and related Spring frameworks (Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Cloud)
Experience implementing CI/CD with tools like Gitlab, Jenkins, Ansible etc.

Security Clearance Requirement

Candidate must have the ability to hold and maintain a Public Trust

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience architecting, designing, and implementing complex applications using various architecture styles like Microservices, REST, Batch, SOA, etc
Experience with design patterns, UML, creating software architecture documents, and detailed designs
Experience with application deployment and management using Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Cloud Foundry, AWS, Dockers, Kubernetes, etc

Other Required Skills And Abilities

Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to think critically.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
