Senior Software Engineer - Java (Remote)

Key Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for enhancing and maintaining a highly transactional Java platform and building new Microservices.

• Work in an Agile, fast-paced environment where requirements can evolve rapidly, and achieving results depends on initiative and leadership.

• Collaborate with a team of talented, like-minded individuals with a can-do attitude to deliver innovative solutions.

• Proactively identify and address technical debt, optimize the platform, and introduce operational efficiencies.

• Design and develop performant, scalable, and highly transactional software that meets both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Estimate, prioritize, and execute development tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.

• Support production deployments and go-live processes to ensure smooth delivery.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 7+ years of commercial experience in Java development.

• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL; familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.

• Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.

• Ability to select the most suitable technologies and frameworks for each project requirement.

• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software development best practices.

• Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools and workflows.

• Ability to estimate, prioritize, and execute tasks independently or in pairs under tight deadlines.

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science or a related field from a reputable university.

• Experience with highly transactional, service-oriented architectures.

• Proficiency in Spring Frameworks, including Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Security.

• Strong commitment to Test Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.

• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and UNIX-based operating systems.

• Familiarity with application security, cryptography, and modern security best practices.

• Prior experience working in Agile teams or startup environments is highly desirable.
