About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Data Analytics Platform team. You will be responsible for developing, scaling, and maintaining critical data systems that power our analytics stack. This includes orchestrating complex data pipelines, integrating market data feeds, optimizing storage and compute layers, and supporting advanced visualisation applications used by trading and analytics teams.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of technical components, work directly with data-focused stakeholders, and contribute to the architecture of a product used by elite financial institutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using Python.
- Integrate and manage real-time and historical financial data feeds.
- Optimize data storage formats, compute efficiency, and query performance.
- Collaborate with analytics and product teams to support new data use cases.
- Build and support internal data APIs and visualisation layers.
- Ensure observability and monitoring for all critical pipelines.
- Write clear, maintainable documentation and contribute to best practices.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3–7 years of professional experience in software or data engineering.
- Strong programming skills in Python (clean code, modularity, testing).
- Experience with data manipulation tools such as Pandas, Polars, or similar.
- Familiarity with orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Dagster).
- Solid understanding of data modelling, transformations, and performance tradeoffs.
- Comfort working with Git and modern development workflows.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- DevOps tooling knowledge: CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Plotly Dash or similar frameworks for data visualisation.
- Exposure to columnar file formats and cloud-native data warehouses.
- Understanding of data versioning, lineage, and governance.
