Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake Developer with 8–10 years of experience in data engineering and analytics. The ideal candidate must have proven expertise in building, optimizing, and maintaining Snowflake environments, along with strong SQL, ETL, and cloud data integration skills. Candidates with SnowPro Core and Advanced certifications will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Snowflake Cloud Data Platform.
- Build and manage ETL/ELT processes integrating data from multiple sources (on-prem, cloud, APIs).
- Develop and maintain Snowflake schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and UDFs.
- Implement performance tuning, query optimization, and warehouse cost management.
- Integrate Snowflake with Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or other orchestration tools.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across Snowflake environments.
- Work with BI/analytics teams to design data marts, semantic layers, and reporting solutions.
- Leverage Snowflake advanced features like Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, Streams, Tasks, and Materialized Views.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Engineers, Cloud Architects, and Business Analysts).
- Implement CI/CD practices for Snowflake development using GitHub, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8–10 years of experience in data engineering / data warehousing.
- Minimum 4–5 years hands-on experience with Snowflake.
- Strong expertise in SQL, performance tuning, and stored procedures.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, Matillion, or dbt.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP).
- Proficiency with data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, 3NF).
- Hands-on experience with Python or Scala for data engineering tasks.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
Preferred / Certifications
- SnowPro Core Certification (Mandatory).
- SnowPro Advanced Certification in Architect, Data Engineer, or Data Scientist track (Preferred).
- Familiarity with modern data stack (Fivetran, dbt, Looker, Power BI).
- Knowledge of big data tools (Spark, Kafka) is a plus.
