The Role
We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer with 7-10 years of experience who thrives across product, platform, and applied AI engineering. You'll design and deliver systems that power instant credit assessments, drive AI-driven fraud and compliance detection, and create seamless cross-border user experiences.
Responsibilities
Platform Development
- Build responsive, high-performance web apps using React/Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind.
- Design and scale Python/FastAPI microservices with secure, well-documented REST APIs.
- Implement identity, permissions, and KYC/AML onboarding flows using Trulioo, Alloy, ComplyAdvantage, and similar partners.
- Integrate Open Banking APIs and design AI-driven credit workflows.
Infrastructure & AI Engineering
- Deploy and operate Dockerized microservices on Kubernetes in GCP environments.
- Architect and optimize serverless and data solutions on GCP (Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Firestore, Cloud Storage).
- Build robust ETL/data pipelines supporting ML models and decision engines.
- Apply Vertex AI, custom ML pipelines, and RAG techniques to production applications.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- 7-10 years of full-stack engineering experience, with strong Python backend expertise (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, REST APIs).
- Modern frontend experience (React/Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind).
- Proven track record in designing scalable REST APIs (OAuth2, OpenID Connect).
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Practical understanding of AI/ML services and deploying production-grade solutions.
Preferred
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Background in FinTech, banking, or financial services.
- Familiarity with compliance and data privacy standards (GDPR, PSD2, SOC2).
- Experience with fraud detection, risk scoring, and financial compliance systems.
