Java Backend Software Engineer Lead

Location: EU – Remote

2+ Months - B2B – Contract

Job Description:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field. (Master’s degree preferred.)
• 8+ years of experience in backend development with demonstrated healthcare domain knowledge.
• 5+ years of experience with modular development on AWS.
• Proficiency in Java (Spring Boot or similar frameworks), Node.JS/Express.JS
• Experience in integrating backend services with mobile app backends (Flutter, React Native).
• Experience with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR) and interoperability frameworks.
• Knowledge of security best practices for handling protected health information (PHI) and other sensitive data.
• Experience with containerization technologies and microservices architecture.
• Preferred:
• Experience working with event-driven architectures and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with healthcare software development or health information systems.
• Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare workflows.
• Knowledge of machine learning and data analytics in healthcare contexts.
