Tech Lead Croatia

Our client is a fast-growing European technology company focused on improving how developers interact with government systems. They build modern, API‑driven solutions that enable fast, secure, and developer-friendly exchange of electronic documents, including e‑invoices.

They are now expanding into Croatia and are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help shape their product offering for the Croatian market.

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a leading role in developing and deploying core products tailored to Croatian regulatory and technical requirements. You will work on backend architecture, ensure product scalability and reliability, and collaborate closely with local clients to support successful integrations.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and document backend components and APIs (hands-on coding)
• Ensure system performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
• Work directly with Croatian customers to support smooth integrations
• Mentor, guide, and manage a junior or mid-level developer
• Contribute to technical standards, best practices, and long-term product directio

Requirements

• Strong experience in building scalable web applications and backend services
• Solid experience with scalable, API‑driven architectures
• Native Croatian and strong English (B2+)
• Comfortable working directly with clients and stakeholders
• Advantage: familiarity with fiscal compliance, e‑invoicing standards, or government API ecosystems, especially within Croatia

Technical Background

Experience with any of the following:

• PHP (preferably Symfony)
• Python
• AWS or similar cloud platforms
