Software Engineer (C#/Ignition/SCADA)

NextStep Recruiting has partnered with an industrial technology organization to identify a Senior Software Engineer in the Dallas, TX area. This role is primarily remote with occasional onsite client visits and will support the development and modernization of software systems within automated operational environments.

This position is ideal for a senior-level engineer who enjoys hands-on development and solving complex system challenges. The right candidate is comfortable working across systems, mentoring others, and helping transition legacy applications into scalable, modern solutions.

Required:

• Strong experience with C# development (core priority) and ability to work in modern application environments
• Experience building and maintaining scalable, production-level software systems
• Background working with integrated systems, real-time data, or operational platforms
• Solid understanding of databases and data flow across applications
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development

Preferred:

• Experience with Python or transitioning systems from Python to C#
• Exposure to industrial, IoT, SCADA, or automation environments
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing practices, and DevOps concepts
• Familiarity with Agile development environments
• Experience in modernizing or refactoring legacy systems
