Position Overview

We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer (Director or Senior Director level individual contributor) to join a high-impact team focused on building core application frameworks. This role involves crafting infrastructure that supports the broader engineering organization — enabling teams to move faster and deliver higher-quality software.

You’ll be a go-to technical leader, working hands-on with architecture, implementation, and strategy. If you’re passionate about developer experience, scalable systems, and empowering others through great tooling, this is a chance to make a lasting impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

Platform Development

• Design and implement high-performance APIs and backend services using C# and .NET.
• Contribute to a distributed, event-driven architecture using technologies like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Optimize database interactions (PostgreSQL or similar) for scale and reliability.
• Develop and maintain shared SDKs that power applications across the organization.
• Uphold high standards for code quality, test coverage, and security practices.

Leadership & Influence

• Drive alignment on architectural patterns and development conventions across teams.
• Mentor engineers, fostering a strong culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Take charge of complex initiatives with minimal direction, owning projects from concept to deployment.
• Actively participate in planning, prioritization, and technical decision-making.

Maintenance & Documentation

• Monitor system health in production environments and troubleshoot issues proactively.
• Collaborate with peers across teams to ensure stability and uptime of mission-critical services.
• Maintain clear and thorough documentation of APIs, architecture, and engineering standards.

Must-Haves

• 10+ years in software engineering, with significant experience building enterprise-level systems.
• At least 6 years focused on designing APIs, SDKs, or frameworks used by other developers.
• Strong command of C# or ability to quickly learn and adapt to new languages.
• Deep understanding of cloud-based systems (preferably AWS).
• Solid background in relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Experience with distributed systems, asynchronous messaging, and caching solutions like Redis.

Nice-to-Haves

• Exposure to Python, PHP, or MySQL.
• Experience building tools that enhance developer workflows and productivity.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Proven ability to lead engineering efforts at scale and guide teams toward technical excellence.
