Senior FastAPI Software Engineer

The Role

We’re hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer (Python) to join our growing backend team. You’ll work closely with AI engineers, frontend developers, and product leads to build scalable APIs and core services that power our agentic workflows.

You’ll help us expand our system capabilities, improve performance, and ensure our backend stack is rock-solid as we grow. The ideal person is comfortable building high-performance Python services, designing clean APIs, and making architecture decisions that stand the test of time.

What You'll Do & Own

• Design, build, and maintain backend services using Python, FastAPI, and Django
• Build and maintain SQL & NoSQL databases with PostgreSQL & MongoDB
• Develop scalable, well-documented APIs used by frontend and AI components
• Collaborate with AI/infra teams to integrate pipelines, model inference, and real-time data
• Own backend performance, observability, and system reliability as we scale
• Write clean, testable code and lead by example in reviews, design docs, and mentoring
• Improve and optimize our data models, auth systems, and deployment pipeline

You Might Be a Fit If You...

• Have 6+ years of professional experience building backend systems in Python/FastAPI
• Have strong experience with frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask
• Know how to design APIs that are secure, fast, and easy to consume
• Are comfortable working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Are familiar with Docker, CI/CD, and modern DevOps workflows
• Thrive in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements and high ownership

Bonus Points

• Experience with authentication/authorization systems (OAuth, SSO, etc.)
• Familiarity with async programming, background workers, or event-driven systems
• Exposure to AI/ML pipelines, vector databases, or working with model inference services
• Experience working on B2B SaaS products or enterprise platforms
• Contributions to open source or a public GitHub you’re proud of
