Director of Brand Marketing

The Opportunity
We're looking for a Director of Brand Marketing who is equal parts brand builder and business driver. This is a highly visible, cross-functional leadership role responsible for shaping how the world sees, hears, and feels about our brand. You'll own our narrative across social media, PR, campaign development, and integrated marketing — translating cultural insight into growth.
The ideal candidate has grown up in beauty, beverage, or another culture-first category. You know the difference between a brand that chases trends and one that sets them. You also know how to tie creative ambition to commercial outcomes — and you're energized by doing both at once.
What You'll Do
Brand Strategy & Storytelling
- Support roll out of brand positioning, visual identity, and tone of voice across all consumer touchpoints.
- Serve as the brand's cultural compass — identifying where we can show up authentically and where we should stay out.
- Build and maintain brand guidelines that empower the broader team to move quickly without losing coherence.
Social Media
- Own social media strategy across all owned platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X, and emerging channels).
- Direct with the content and creative team to develop a scroll-stopping, platform-native content cadence.
- Lead influencer and creator strategy — from macro partnerships to an always-on micro and nano network.
- Use data to optimize — engagement, saves, shares, and conversion — not just reach.
Campaign Development
- Lead integrated brand campaigns from strategic brief through execution and measurement.
- Translate seasonal moments, product launches, and cultural opportunities into 360-degree marketing programs.
- Collaborate with marketing channels, Retail Marketing, and Ecommerce teams to ensure campaigns land consistently across every channel.
PR & Earned Media
- Manage PR agency relationships and oversee earned media strategy, press outreach, and thought leadership.
- Secure coverage in tier-1 lifestyle, wellness, and business media that elevates brand credibility.
- Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors, and cultural tastemakers.
- Develop crisis communications protocols and serve as a key voice in issues management.
Integrated Marketing & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Serve as the connective tissue between Brand, Retail, E-commerce, and Growth — ensuring a consistent consumer experience everywhere.
- Partner with the innovation/commercial team on go-to-market strategy for new launches, limited editions, and brand extensions.
- Collaborate with Sales and Retail Marketing to bring the brand to life at shelf and in-store.
Growth & Performance
- Set monthly and quarterly brand KPIs — example: awareness, consideration, share of voice, earned impressions — and own the results.
- Partner with Finance and Growth on annual brand investment planning and channel allocation.
- Build a reporting cadence and present brand performance to senior leadership with clear analysis and a point of view.
Team & Culture
- Lead, mentor, and grow a lean, high-performing brand team.
- Foster a culture of creative boldness and rigorous execution — high standards, fast feedback loops.
- Be a voice for the consumer and the brand in every business discussion.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of brand marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Background in beauty, wellness, or a culturally relevant CPG brand — you understand how these consumers think, shop, and share.
- Proven track record of building brand equity while delivering against hard growth targets — you don't see creativity and commerce as opposing forces.
- A genuine pulse on culture — you follow the right accounts, read the right substacks, and notice things before they trend.
- Strong campaign development chops: you can write a great brief, push creative, and ship work you're proud of.
- Experience managing PR, either in-house, through an agency, or both.
- Social media fluency — you understand what performs and why, across platforms and formats.
- Sharp communicator who can simplify complexity, sell a vision, and influence without authority.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by the pace of a growing brand.
- A natural collaborator who earns trust across functions and levels.

- Experience launching a product into retail — you know what it takes to earn and keep shelf space.
- You've worked at or with a DTC-to-retail brand navigating the transition.
- You have an existing network of creators, editors, or cultural figures in the wellness or lifestyle space.
- You've built a brand presence from the ground up and know what zero-to-one feels like.
