Position Summary
NORD is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to support our Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team. This role will contribute to a wide range of design projects, ensuring consistent visual storytelling across all platforms and materials. The Graphic Designer plays a vital role in advancing NORD's brand identity and increasing awareness of our mission through impactful visuals.
Reporting to the Senior Project and Creative Design Manager, this individual will design and produce marketing collateral, digital content, event branding, infographics, and more. The ideal candidate brings strong design skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Design Execution
- Create compelling, high-quality print and digital designs for campaigns, events, presentations, infographics, flyers, social media, email, and web/mobile platforms
- Translate complex information and data into clear, engaging visuals that align with NORD’s brand identity
- Apply principles of typography, layout, and color theory to produce polished, on-brand assets
- Collaborate with the Senior Project and Creative Design Manager and team leads to bring creative concepts to life
Brand Stewardship
- Maintain and evolve NORD’s brand standards across all materials and channels
- Develop templates and visual guidelines for internal and external partners, including freelance designers
- Support the development and organization of a centralized library of creative assets
Project Management & Collaboration
- Coordinate timelines and deliverables for assigned design projects
- Participate in editorial planning and campaign development with cross-functional teams
- Track project progress and communicate status updates clearly and consistently
- Assist in managing vendor relationships and preparing files for production or digital distribution
Administrative & Operational Support
- Maintain organized file systems and production logs
- Contribute to routine administrative tasks, including expense reports, invoices, and SOP documentation
- Create basic instructional materials or how-to guides as needed
Education/Experience
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field
- At least 5 years of professional graphic design experience
- Experience in an agency environment, non-profit, health care is preferred
- 3-5 years of project management experience, including managing budgets and schedules
- Graphic design and branding experience in print and digital media with proficiency in typography, color theory, and branding
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Understanding of branding, layout, color theory, and typography
- Experience designing for web, social media, and email campaign
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative thinker and problem solver who thrives in a collaborative environment
- Experience with video editing or motion graphics is a plus
- Comfortable working with vendors and preparing files for print or digital production
- Adaptable and proactive with a positive, team-first attitude
Working Conditions
This is a primarily remote, full-time position with occasional on-site presence required at our Danbury, CT office for meetings and projects, as needed.
