The Marketing Specialist supports and executes marketing campaigns that drive engagement, membership growth, and brand awareness. This role is integral to implementing creative strategies that attract, retain, and nurture our audience. The Marketing Specialist should be comfortable tracking campaign performance and reporting to drive the association’s goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility, engagement, and member acquisition.
- Create compelling content for emails, social media, web, blogs, and other digital platforms to drive engagement and conversions.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer satisfaction surveys to identify trends, audience needs, and areas for strategic improvement.
- Utilize audience insights and competitive intelligence to inform content strategy, campaign messaging, and positioning.
- Assist in managing NCMA’s digital presence, ensuring brand consistency across all channels.
- Support lead generation efforts, audience segmentation strategies, and personalized outreach to key stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal teams, leadership, and external vendors to develop and produce high-quality marketing materials.
- Manage social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, monitoring, and responding to engagement.
- Contribute to paid advertising campaigns across social media, search engines, and other digital platforms.
- Track, analyze, and report on marketing campaign performance, using key metrics to optimize future strategies.
- Support event marketing efforts, including promotional campaigns, logistics, and on-site execution.
- Assist in the development and execution of email marketing campaigns, including list segmentation and A/B testing.
- Maintain NCMA’s website content, ensuring updates align with organizational goals and industry trends.
- Provide marketing support for partnerships, sponsorships, and membership growth initiatives.
- Work collaboratively across departments to support organization-wide initiatives, ensuring alignment with marketing goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in an association, membership-based organization, or B2B/B2G environment.
- Experience with government, contracting, or acquisition communities is a plus but not required.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills with experience in digital content creation.
- Working knowledge of social media platforms, marketing automation tools, and email marketing best practices.
- Proficiency in survey development, data collection, and audience insights to inform marketing strategies.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of campaign performance metrics, including Google Analytics, marketing attribution models, and A/B testing.
- Ability to interpret social media analytics, email engagement reports, and customer segmentation data to optimize campaigns.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in lead generation, audience segmentation, and nurturing campaigns to support business development goals.
- Ability to create marketing materials, presentations, and proposals to support sponsorship, membership, and event sales.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to align marketing strategies.
- Comfortable coordinating with external vendors, partners, and stakeholders to execute marketing initiatives.
- Creative mindset with attention to detail and brand consistency.
- Proficiency utilizing Microsoft such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Acrobat and other associated similar software expertise.
- Established presence and network in relevant communities, such as ASAE, American Marketing Association or other, related organizations.
- Work outside the typical work hours when necessary to meet assignments or project objectives.
- Limited travel, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be able to travel 10%-15%
