Role Purpose
We are looking for an experienced UX designer with a strong user research background to help take My Money Matters to its next stage of growth. You will work alongside a nascent team to research, design, validate and ultimately ship the best solutions to underlying customer problems.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting into the Product & Marketing Director, your main responsibilities in this role include:
- Ownership: Confident, proven ability to lead UX design, interaction design, and user research for product features.
- Research: Discovering underlying customer problems through user research and translating them into validated features for implementation. Generate and validate hypotheses through rigorous research. Plan, design and conduct user research activities. Articulate why a chosen research methodology is the right one to achieve a particular objective.
- Product design: prototype low to mid fidelity interfaces that make our product intuitive and elegant. Develop user flows and wireframes.
- Analysis: Examine qualitative and quantitative data to make user-centered design decisions that meet business objectives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure UX consistency and alignment with our goals. Running discovery and design workshops with stakeholders and customers.
- Trends: Stay updated with the latest research methods, UX best practices and tooling.

Skills and Requirements
- Demonstrated track record of successfully helping to ship digital products from 0-1.
- Demonstrated experience as a UX designer with strengths in both interaction design and user research.
- Experience working in an agile cross-functional team alongside engineering, design, data and marketing team members.
- Experience of running discovery and research processes end-to-end.
- Deep understanding of UX/UI best practices, design thinking and user research methodologies.
- Comfortable running both generative and evaluative research, leveraging both qual and quant methodologies.
- Comfortable working autonomously and at pace.
- Mobile app experience is crucial.
- B2B, SaaS and/or fintech experience is crucial.
- Experience in a start-up or scale-up is a plus.
- Experience in formal statistical analysis is a plus.
- Some experience in producing high fidelity designs leveraging a design system is a plus,
- Domain knowledge of financial wellbeing and personal finance is a plus.
A bit about you
- At least 3 years’ experience in a product or UX design or user research role.
- Evidence: A strong portfolio showcasing your work
- Tools: Proficiency in tools such as Qualtrics, Figma, Hotjar, UserTesting, Google Analytics, PowerBI or similar.
- Skills: Strong understanding of user-centred design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
- Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale to stakeholders
- Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about design challenges
