Senior Data Scientist

One of our clients in the banking industry is expanding their Artificial Intelligence Platform and is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team.

In this role, you will work across the entire machine learning lifecycle, applying data mining techniques, statistical analysis, and advanced AI/ML methodologies to solve real-world business problems at scale. You’ll help design, build, and deploy end-to-end machine learning pipelines, from data collection strategies through to inference services in production.

💡 This is a 100% remote role, with the requirement that the candidate is physically based in Continental Portugal.

🧠 What We’re Looking For

• Strong understanding of machine learning and deep learning algorithms (e.g. k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Random Forests, MLP, LSTM)
• Hands-on experience with Python or R (strong proficiency in at least one)
• Experience with ML libraries such as pandas, numpy, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn
• Solid applied statistics background (distributions, regression, hypothesis testing)
• Excellent scripting and programming skills
• Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, and distributed training
• Proficiency in SQL / Spark SQL and working with large datasets
• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, CosmosDB)
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with data visualization tools
• Proven expertise in graph theory applications, reinforcement learning, generative AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering
• Experience deploying and monitoring ML models in production
• A data-oriented mindset and strong problem-solving skills
