We are hiring a UX designer to help our team on a high-profile project. This role is specifically working with our Next Generation Self-Checkout product. You’ll be involved in all aspects of product development working alongside the US-based self-checkout UX Design team and a team of supportive and collaborative designers.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently and within a team, ability to adapt to team and project needs, raise questions and concerns as the project progresses, and execute end-to-end designs based on user and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and process flows to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
- Carry out research, including usability testing and translate insights into informed designs
- Present & defend designs to key stakeholders
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define problems, and ensure designs are executed properly
- Maintain and contribute to design libraries to ensure a cohesive and consistent UI across platforms
- Produce high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and interaction specs using Figma
- Work with your project lead to balance user needs with business goals, technical constraints, and platform guidelines
- Maintain your project timelines, scope work as needed, and communicate any timeline risks to your lead
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of UX/UI design experience for mobile and/or touch screen
- Fluency in English, verbal and written
- Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design thinking, research, interaction design, and UI design skills
- Solid understanding of usability principles, design systems, and accessibility standards
- Proficiency in Figma for creating responsive designs and prototypes
- Proactive and comfortable managing your own projects
- Values feedback, professional growth, and working in a collaborative, global team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing for self-checkout systems or retail focused products, especially for global markets
- Organized and detail-oriented in documentation, project tracking and stakeholder management
- Demonstrates strong communication skills and has an ability to uncover latent user needs and anticipate gaps early in design process
- Experience working with US-based teams
- Ability to work hours more overlapped with US time zone
